Fujifilm Superia XTra 400 /LCW lomo lcw with Superia X… Flickr
I've shot Fujifilm Superia X-tra 400 a fair amount of times thanks to a lot of hearty recommendations I've heard about it, and low price and ease of availability. I've heard it referred to as a competitor to Portra 400. But I've never really been satisfied with the scans I get back - it almost always looks so green in the shadows.

Fuji Superia X-TRA 400, an appreciation. With Fuji (not)Film's continued, and continual, discontinuing of various great film stocks, it may seem odd to sing its praises, but they really do/did make some great film. Even the cheap consumer stuff is really quite good, and very versatile.

Fuji Superia Premium 400 is a Japan-only film. I haven't used it myself, but Fuji Japan markets it as being optimized for Japanese skin tone. It has no "cyan sensitive layer." Compared to Superia X-Tra 400, Superia Premium 400 responds to longer wavelength, wider red light. Hope this helps.

After axing most of their range, Fujifilm Superia X-TRA 400 is one of Fujifilm's last remaining film stocks, but let's hope this sticks around as it is a brilliantly versatile and forgiving film, with a wide exposure latitude, good sharpness, and good color reproduction.

That's why Fuji makes Superia 800.The trick is finding a lab with a sufficiently tight C41 line to do consistent 1, 1 1/3, 1 2/3, 2 stop push processing--easier said than done as pro labs drop processing or fold. Superia 400 isn't the greatest, as discussed above. I hated its grain and awful skin tones.

Fujifilm Superia X-Tra 400 is a medium-speed C-41 emulsion widely distributed across the Canadian drugstore chain London Drugs. This film seems to have been filling the shelves since the days analogue was the only way to take pictures.
