History. Squid formed in Brighton, England in 2016. They have cited Neu! and This Heat as influences. In 2019, they released their second EP, titled Town Centre, to critical acclaim. Quick Review Squid - Town Centre Genre: Art Punk, Post Punk Opening and closing with two Ambient Rock tracks, at the core of this EP there is a 4 minute and a 7 minute art punk epic with a gorgeous vocal performance (from David Byrne-esque to jugged, guttural vocals), a stunning bassline and the most amazing rhythm guitar tone.
